Self-described purveyors of “exotic grit pop,” Brooklyn, Fresh York-based indie digital duo Ghost Beach craft icy blasts of chillwave-kissed electro-pop that invokes titles like BEATEN UP, Neon Indian, Foals, and Passion Pit. Created in 2013 round the skills of Josh Sea (vocals, bass, synths) and Eric Mendelsohn (guitars, synths, sampler), the duo pulls a lot of its motivation from the first ’80s, citing performers like Peter Gabriel, the authorities, and Talking Minds as affects, though their moniker was raised from a 1994 installment of the favorite R.L. Stine-authored Goosebumps series. Ghost Seaside released a set of EPs, Contemporary Tongues and Magic, before their 2014 debut long-player, the Nettwerk-issued Blonde.
