Gerry Hallom

b. 24 Dec 1950, Richmond, Surrey, Britain. Hallom is becoming known for his interpretations of traditional Australian tracks, aswell as his personal compositions. Spending a few of his previously years in Australia, Hallom started playing clubs, celebrations and concerts in 1974. It had been being a songwriter that he considered reworkings of Australian designs from original music. He moved back again to Britain in 1979. Travellin’ Down The Castlereagh was well-received by the favorite press, as well as the Guardian defined it as the ‘greatest debut record in years’. This is implemented in 1982 by US and Canadian travels, culminating in performances on the Philadelphia and Vancouver celebrations. The follow-up, A Operate ONE MINUTE, included the Ewan MacColl melody ‘My Aged Man’, and highlighted support from Jez Lowe and Chris Coe, amongst others. From 1984-87, Hallom examined for a level, and aside from periodic club performances and carrying on with songwriting, today lectures in sociology in York. For Aged Australian Methods, Hallom coaxed Nic Jones back to the limelight, by obtaining him to supply backing vocals over the album. In addition, it featured the task of several Australian writers established to music by Hallom. He retired from executing for some time to review sociology, but came back to active use 1998’s OVER THE Periphery.
