Gerry Goffin

Gerry Goffin began composing lyrics like a young man in Queens, NY. In 1958, while going to Queens University, he fulfilled and wedded composer Carole Ruler, who became his musical partner. Within the ten years these were collectively, they wrote an incredible string of strike songs, four which reached number 1: “DO YOU WANT TO Like Me Tomorrow” for the Shirelles and “Consider PROPER CARE of My Baby” for Bobby Vee in 1961, “The Loco-Motion” for Small Eva in 1962, and “DISAPPEAR COMPLETELY LITTTLE LADY” for Steve Lawrence in 1963.
