Gerry Brown

b. 9 November 1951, Philadelphia, Pa, USA. After trained in a conservatory in the first 70s, Brown found European countries in 1972 playing drums for John Lee. He remained and documented with Chris Hinze, Joachim Kuhn, Toots Thielemans and Charlie Mariano. On his go back to NY in 1976 he used Stanley Clarke before becoming a member of Chick Corea’s GO BACK TO Forever. He’s a deft musician, in a position to provide a company rhythmic bass for just about any music group. In 1979 he came back to Europe to try out the Montreux International Jazz Event with Didier Lockwood. He continued to be in France and Germany for some time, but by 1984 was back New York documenting with Arthur Blythe.
