Georg Christoph Biller

Georg Christoph Biller is a German conductor, vocalist, educator, and composer. From 1965 to 1974, he received his musical teaching as an associate of the famous Thomanerchor at St. Thomas Chapel, Leipzig, taking programs with Erhard Mauersberger and Hans-Joachim Rotzsch. From 1976 to 1981, Biller went to the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy University or college of Music and Theater in Leipzig, where he analyzed performing with Rolf Reuter and Kurt Masur. In 1991, he trained choral conducting in the University or college of Music in Detmold, until he was called the 16th Thomaskantor since Bach’s period, holding that placement from 1992 to 2015. In 1994, he became a teacher of choral performing in the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy University or college, and in 1996, he was accepted towards the Academy of Arts of Saxony. Biller offers recorded a lot of Bach’s cantatas and additional choral repertoire for Philips and Rondeau.
