Geoff Gill

Geoff Gill is a drummer-turned-songwriter who hailed originally from York. He began as an associate of Tony Adams & the Viceroys, before developing the Pictures, who evolved in to the Smoke cigarettes, an extremely underrated mod music group that enjoyed a big following in European countries (specifically Germany). Following the breakup from the Smoke cigarettes, he became a residence musician at Morgan Studios, where he performed on information by Fickle Pickle and various other Morgan-signed acts. It had been during this time period, in the first ’70s, that he started focusing principally on songwriting, primarily together with ex-Orange Bike keyboard participant/arranger Can Malone and with latter-day Smoke cigarettes member Cliff Wade — both had popular with “Heartbreaker,” which became lots a unitary for Pat Benatar, and their function was also included in Tina Turner, amongst others.
