#Fact
Good friends with Brian Michael Bendis, who is considered to be a chief creative force for Marvel in the same way that Johns is for DC. Bendis also succeeded Johns in writing The Avengers.
When he was twenty-one, he wrote a fan letter to DC in which he theorized that Superboy was the genetically engineered offspring of Superman and his arch enemy Lex Luthor. The theory was dismissed. Years later when he was writing the character, he used the origin he had suggested back then.
Has said that he is not proud of his run on The Avengers or work with Marvel in general due to a stated lack of research into the characters on his part.
He used himself as the visual inspiration for the original illustrations of superhero Green Lantern/Simon Baz (created in 2012), first Arab-American as member of the Lanterns. Johns was 39 years old at the point.
His favorite villains are Sinestro, Lex Luthor and Captain Cold.
His character Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl was based on and named after his sister who was among the victims of the TWA Flight 800 accident of 1996.
The first comics he ever bought were ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'' 3 and 4. He later did a follow up to the series in ''Infinite Crisis''.
Graduated from Michigan State University.
Is of Lebanese descent.
Was originally ordered to kill off Dick Grayson (The first Robin and later Nightwing) in 'Infinite Crisis' but refused.
Currently, writing, directing and producing a stop-motion animated feature film, "Naughty or Nice" with Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich for a 2008 release. [February 2007]
Began production of the "Blade" TV pilot for the Spike network. Geoff Johns is co-writing the pilot with Executive Producer David S. Goyer. The two previously co-wrote the "Justice Society of America" comic book. [November 2005]
Lives in Los Angeles.
Credits Mark Waid's run on ''The Flash'' as solidifying his love of comic books.
He has written stories for Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash and The Justice League.
Was assigned as the head writer of ''The Justice League'', ''Green Lantern'' and ''Aquaman'' in DC's "New 52" 2011 relaunch.
Discovered comic books after finding a box of old copies of Flash, Superman, Batman and Green Lantern that his Grandmother had in her attic.
Considers Richard Donner his idol and mentor.
His favorite Comic book hero is The Flash.
Appeared on the DVD commentary track for Lethal Weapon 4 with director Richard Donner.
Is more famous as a writer of comic books than for his work in the film industry. He writes Green Lantern, Justice Society of America and Action Comics with Superman director Richard Donner.
