Genie Grant

A transplanted St. Louis indigenous and a member of family past due bloomer, Genie Offer is a staple from the Dallas Jazz picture going back twenty years. At celebrations and concerts, Offer has opened up for such notables as Bob Wish, Diahann Carroll Lynda Carter and Marilyn McCoo. Grant’s coquettish tone of voice, similar to Blossom Dearie and Jeri Southern with dollops of Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee added, can be heard to exceptional influence on her preliminary record Blame It on My Youngsters with Zoller as musical movie director. There’s nothing challenging about just how she sings a tune. It’s simple, simple and direct, as opposed to the swooping and scatting that occasionally characterizes the varieties of today’s performers. The tunes she sings are like aged close friends and her tone of voice just like a familiar, comfy slipper. Simply mentioned, Grant is quite pleasant to hear.
