Gary Usher’s importance in the annals of California rock and roll is substantial. He co-wrote many of the Seaside Kids’ early tracks with Brian Wilson, including classics like “IN MY OWN Space” and “409,” and created the Byrds’ Younger Than Last night and Notorious Byrd Brothers albums. He was also an intermittent performer.
