Gangpol und Mit

Merging whimsical electronic pop with colorful, chunky graphics that are as menacing because they are playful, Gangpol & Mit may be the task of composer Sylvain Quément and designer Guillaume Castagné. The duo started working jointly in 2002 in a genuine cooperation, with Quément translating Castagné’s visuals into music, or Castagné’s images recommending a melody to Quément. Gangpol & Mit released their initial record of cartoonishly surreal music, Pièces Détachéha sido, in 2004, using the limited-edition Tournent en Rond EP arriving the next season. For 2007’s The Hopelessly Sad Tale from the Hideous End from the Globe, the pair mixed speeches, lullabies, and sampled orchestra agreements in apocalyptic style. They expanded upon this concept using the Japan-only discharge Music Hall, Building Fall, which put together songs off their prior record and hard-to-find monitors with new materials. In ’09 2009, Gangpol & Mit embarked on a far more ambitious task: Carton Recreation area was the duo’s initial work aimed particularly at kids and highlighted multi-media shows with vocals by Ponpoko Information’ Mami Chan and Norman Bambi. The next year saw the discharge of Faits Divers, a mixture DVD/book established, that also spawned the Faits Diverse Edits EP from Drop of Bloodstream Information. The 1000 Softcore Visitor People Club found its way to early 2011, and shown a slightly even more streamlined sound compared to the duo’s prior efforts.
