Playing an utterly unique mixture of rock and roll & move, folk, and quirky Americana, Gandalf Murphy & the Slambovian Circus of Dreams have already been known as “the hillbilly Green Floyd,” that is an apt description, especially if you toss in components of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, the Group, Neil Diamond, and perhaps even some Frank Zappa aswell. Lead vocalist and primary songwriter Joziah Longo (electric guitar and harmonica) and multi-instrumentalists Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, flute) and Sharkey McEwan (electric guitar, mandolin, and support vocals) had proved helpful previously together within the hard rock and roll clothing the Ancestors in the past due ’80s and early ’90s and got a detailed, hard go through the stresses and insanities from the major-label music devices. The trio strolled away from everything and settled within the Sleepy Hollow section of the Hudson River Valley in NY, where, enlisting percussionist and drummer Tony Zuzulo in 1998, these were reborn as Gandalf Murphy (there is absolutely no one called Gandalf or Murphy within the music group). The group designed a quirky, flexible, and good-humored display that worked aswell in little folk clubs since it do on large event stages, and has generated a big and loyal lover following. Lately the Circus offers added Chen Longo like a bassist (Chen may be the child of Joziah and Tink, who are couple). Fiercely impartial, the group works its label, Great Noon Records, and it has released a set of studio room albums, 1998’s AN EXCELLENT Thief Guidelines His Hat and 2004’s double-disc Flapjacks in the Sky, along with the concert albums Live at the city Crier (2001) along with a Night on the Puppet Home (2003).
