Composed of vocalist Varnam Ponville, guitarists Scott Shelby and Rick Perry, bassist Eric Roy, and drummer Jamey Milford, Arlington, TX, music group Gammacide emerged through the past due-’80s thrash steel craze and maintained just one record, 1989’s Victims of Science, prior to going their split ways. Guitarist Perry afterwards joined an commercial metal band known as Puncture, while Ponville and Shelby shifted to Louisiana and shaped another thrash group, Cauldron, launching a set of past due-’90s albums. Gammacide’s singular LP, Victims of Research, will be reissued in 2004 with six reward tracks.
