Gabi Delgado

Vocalist/lyricist Gabi Delgado (given birth to Gabi Delgado-Lopez) provided the backbone for Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft (aka DAF and D.A.F.), an experimental cooperation between German and American music artists. The group, which created six amazing albums between 1979-1982, continuing to explore fresh musical realms after reuniting in 1986. The impetus that led to the starting of Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft was stirred when Delgado fulfilled sequencer/drummer Robert Görl, who experienced sung with many punk rings, in 1977. Agreeing to pool their assets, Delgado and Görl documented the 1st Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft recording, Produkt der Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, 2 yrs later. Released exclusively in Germany, the recording featured 22 brief, untitled instrumental fragments. Relocating to London, Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft performed their 1st concert in the Marquee Golf club. Signing using the impartial Mute label, they released an individual, “Kebabtraume,” before going through staff shifts. They documented their first recording for the label, Die Kleinen und pass away Bösen, like a duo. Despite switching to the bigger Virgin label for his or her third recording, Alles Ist Gut, in 1981, Delgado and Görl had been annoyed by their insufficient commercial achievement. After liberating what they regarded as their final recording, Für Immer, in 1982, they separated, with Delgado carrying on to execute with Delkom. Quickly reunited in 1985, Delgado and Görl completely resumed their collaboration, became a member of by Teo Schulte, after succumbing towards the urges of Berlin DJ Wotan Wilke in 1994. Since reuniting, the music group offers performed as DAF Dos and OPD Procedure DAF.
