G Force

After encountering his first taste of solo success using a belated second album, Back again on the Roads (his first, Milling Stone, have been released to simply no acclaim in the past in 1973), guitar hero Gary Moore was under great pressure to deliver a straight stronger follow-up, and appeared to hit an innovative wall through the unsuccessful 1980 sessions that could afterwards be unearthed and issued as the Dirty Fingertips LP. Therefore when he was presented with the chance to tour America to get Vehicle Halen, he not merely place the stalled recordings on the trunk burner, but recruited vocalist Tony Newton, bassist Willie Dee, and drummer Tag Nauseef (ex-Ian Gillan Music group and Elf) to attempt stated tour — much less Gary Moore — but as a completely new band called G Pressure. The tour was successful in as far as the group consequently completed a whole album comprising hard rock and roll fare (a lot more radio-oriented than most Moore materials) in LA, however they would break apart when Gary was asked to join previous ELP guy Greg Lake’s music group, and he once more resumed his single career with restored self-confidence on 1982’s Corridors of Power.
