Friction

Perhaps one of the most enduring rings within the Tokyo underground, Friction was formed in 1978 by multi-instrumentalist/composer Reck after he returned from a stay static in NY, where he used seminal No Influx acts like Adam Chance as well as the Contortions and Lydia Lunchtime. During the period of 2 decades, Friction has already established mixed lineups and noises, but Reck’s fusion of punk, hard rock and roll and noise continues to be a constant. IN THE US, Friction’s albums possess appeared on brands like Foe and Tzadik, who released the 1999 record Zone Tripper.
