French Toast shaped in 2001 around Wayne Canty and Jerry Busher, a duo whose independent professions are rooted within the respectable Washington, D.C., punk picture. Canty have been an associate of the country of Ulysses, Cupid Car Golf club, as well as the Make-Up, while Busher got logged period with rings like Fidelity Jones and las Mordidas, furthermore to using Fugazi and Ted Leo. Busher was also an integral part of the D.C. post-punk all-star group the All Marks, featuring people of Fugazi, Beefeater, and much more, so when Canty became a member of that music group for a Western tour in nov 2000, the building blocks was laid for the cooperation that could become French Toast. As French Toast, both didn’t supply post-rock such as Fugazi, rather cohesively mixing rock and roll and electronic components right into a rather somber and made up indie rock and roll affair, somewhat just like the Dismemberment Strategy. They debuted in 2002 using the Bugman, an EP on Arrest Information, a label that Canty co-owned, before starting up with Dischord for his or her March 2005 full-length Inside a Cave. The music group played displays with famous brands Queens from the Rock Age group, Modest Mouse, and Bloc Party and, in middle-2005, became a trio with the help of Ben Gilligan (a veterinarian of bands just like the Vague and Australia’s Little Doses) with their rates.
