Hailing from Brixen in South Tyrol, Italy, Deutschrock music group Frei.Crazy was formed in Sept 2001 by Philipp Burger (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Jonas Notdurfter (acoustic guitar), who also then teamed up with bassist Jochen Gargitter and drummer Christian Fohrer. Their 6th recording, 2009’s Hart am Blowing wind, was the first ever to enter the German recording graphs — the record peaked at quantity 15 — and their 2010 follow-up, Gegengift, fared better still, reaching number 2. Their eighth recording, 2012’s Feinde Deiner Feinde, was also successful and was quickly nominated for an ECHO award, but was later on withdrawn because of criticism from the band’s right-wing politics reputation. They came back in 2013 using the album Still.
