Free Time

THE BRAND NEW York City-based group LEISURE TIME mix C-86-style indie pop and jangling ’90s indie rock having a sweetly ramshackle energy. They created in middle-2012 when Australian vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Dion Nania, who experienced moved to NY in 2011 and consequently played acoustic guitar with fellow expats Scott and Charlene’s Wedding ceremony and bass on the U.S. tour by another Australian group, the Twerps, made a decision to begin his own task. He started composing music and piecing jointly several like-minded musicians. Buying drummer Michael Mimoun, guitarist Jonah Maurer, and bass participant Adrienne Humblet, the quartet documented a batch of music, which Nania had taken back again to Melbourne to combine before returning with an increase of songs, that your band completed up in Dec of 2012. Underwater Individuals released the eponymously entitled Free Time record in-may of 2013. The music group toured, after that released the “Esoteric Tizz” one in 2014 prior to starting work on a fresh record with Woods member and manufacturer Jarvis Taveniere in Brooklyn. Using the record partly finished, Nania came back to Melbourne and come up with a local music group that highlighted Twerps member Marty Frawley, Zachary Schneider of Totally Mild, and Joe Alexander of Terrible Truths. This lineup completed the band’s second record, Searching for Free Time, that was released by Underwater Individuals and Bedroom Suck in Apr of 2016.
