Fredy Studer

b. 16 June 1948, Lucerne, Switzerland. Studer is really a self-taught musician who began playing drums when he was 16 yrs . old and made an appearance in an array of rings from rock and roll through jazz to experimental. In 1970, he relocated to Rome having a rock and roll trio. He became a specialist for the introduction of Paiste cymbals. Through the entire 70s he was using the jazz/rock and roll band Om and played within the rock band TOGETHER. Studer created a trio with Rainer Brüninghaus and Markus Stockhausen between 1981 and 1984 and played within the Charlie Mariano / Jasper Vehicle’t Hof music group. He also performed within the percussion group Performing Drums with Pierre Favre, Paul Motian and Nana Vasconcelos. Studer offers toured thoroughly, including outings to the united states, Central and SOUTH USA, the Caribbean, North Africa and Japan.
