Frederick Nicholls Crouch

An British composer and cellist who settled in america and played the trumpet for the Confederacy through the Civil Battle. His most well-known tune “Kathleen Mavoureen” was created in England; at exactly the same time he was learning to be a lecturer on renowned statistics from Ireland. Crouch was an excellent cellist playing in the King’s Theater but the most his compositions weren’t as effective. During his years in america Crouch constructed two operas and unsuccessfully attempted different musical undertakings (we.e., conducting, performing and teaching). He was well travelled in New Britain ultimately settling in Baltimore.
