Freddie Hughes


Freddie Hughes had the variation of being among the last successful performers on Vee Jay Information prior to the label collapsed within the mid-’60s. In 1965, he charted a set of Best 20 R&B singles with “Oo Wee Baby, I REALLY LIKE You” and “You Can’t Consider It Away.” He shifted to Scepter Information’ Wand imprint and have scored another strike with “Send My Baby Back again,” co-written, created, and organized by Lonnie Hewitt, which surely got to amount 20 in the R&B graphs and amount 94 pop, enough to obtain him an opportunity to do a comprehensive record for the label. He still left Wand Information in 1969 to indication with Brunswick Information.
