Better referred to as the Five Satins and in addition as Black Silk, this New Haven group continues to be performing in a variety of identities because the ’50s. Their melody “Within the Still of the night time” continues to be the definitive doo wop like melody, and has often topped NY oldies large WCBS-FM’s fan study for most significant record ever. Parris, Al Denby, Jim Freeman, Eddie Martin, and pianist Jessie Murphy had been the initial lineup. By enough time the melody peaked at number 3 R&B, Parris is at the Military, stationed in Japan.
