b. 30 January 1911, London, Britain, d. 12 Might 1981. A gifted clarinettist and saxophonist, Weir performed in a number of dance rings in London within the 30s. In 1944 he led an all-star group on the Jazz Jamboree, kept at London’s Stoll Theater. This music group included Kenny Baker, Laddy Busby, Freddy Gardner, Cyril Stapleton and Shearing. Within the 50s, Weir led a big string orchestra, playing well-known music and novelty products. Also within the 50s, he toured the range theatres and dancehalls and produced several popular information. Among we were holding ‘Caribbean Vacation’ and ‘My Kid, My Kid’, the last mentioned documented with Vera Lynn, and which made an appearance just beyond your Best 20 in the money Box graphs in 1954.
