Frank Tiberi

Frank Tiberi offers spent so enough time being a sideman and finally the leader from the Woody Herman Orchestra that it’s often forgotten that he previously a lengthy profession a long time before joining Herman. Tiberi 1st began playing locally as a kid in 1936 and he was a part of a marching road music group. Although he previously lessons on clarinet and bassoon, Tiberi was self-taught on tenor and flute. He started playing in night clubs when he was simply 13 and Tiberi used Bob Chester’s Big Music group (1948-49), the Benny Goodman Quintet (1954-55), Dizzy Gillespie and several other musicians around the East Coastline. He worked thoroughly in the studios through the 1960s before becoming a member of Woody Herman’s Orchestra in 1969. Frank Tiberi continued to be with Herman through the clarinetist’s last 18 years and, since Woody’s loss of life in 1987, he continues to be the leader from the big music group. The Herman Orchestra, while not documenting again before late ’90s, offers continuing touring on at least a part-time basis and Tiberi offers kept the soul of the group (along with a lot of its preparations) alive.
