Biography

A genuine original, composer/musician/sound artist Frank Pahl spent his musical career within the underground, amassing a little cult following. Whether along with his organizations Just a Mother as well as the Scavenger Quartet or playing single, he charms his general public with beautiful avant-garde melodies performed on an extraordinary selection of neglected acoustic devices and homemade automatons. His music allies a naïve simpleness and a sophisticated contact of amateurism (the consequence of using devices that are hard to retain in melody). His appearance participate in an unsuspected place between Eugene Chadbourne and Pascal Comelade. His involvement within the tribute record to the Citizens, Eyesore, in 1996 as well as the discharge of his third record, In Cahoots, another season, both on the label Vaccination, enticed a relatively bigger target audience. A turning stage, the second option features short tunes ? la Just a Mom sided by instrumental music directing toward his past due-’90s productions. Contributors included like-minded maverick Eugene Chadbourne and Shaking Ray Levis. Pahl continuing to execute and record sparsely. He received several commissions for theatre and dance productions and was also energetic like a multidisciplinary designer, creating unusual and eye-catching computerized sound sculptures.
