Frank Mantooth

A well-respected big-band arranger, Frank Mantooth wrote for countless orchestras and music artists beginning in the first ’70s. His mom performed piano and uncle was a violinist, therefore Mantooth was raised with music. Although he performed some acoustic guitar while developing up, Mantooth ultimately became a talented pianist. He gained a bachelor of music level from North Tx State College or university in 1969; was an associate of the Atmosphere Push Academy Falconaires (1969-1973), where he added arrangements; and spent seven years surviving in Austria. During his period in European countries, Mantooth began posting big-band and combo preparations, gaining a well known name in the jazz education globe. Mantooth documented a duo recording (Our First on Fontana) with bassist Wayne Darling. After time for america in 1980, Mantooth taken care of a busy composing, teaching, and efficiency schedule. Quite mixed up in jazz education field (including offering within the adjunct faculty of DePaul College or university), Mantooth documented using the Phil Wilson Big Music group, Ashley Alexander (who performed three complete albums of Mantooth agreements over the A.M. P.M. label), and Kirsten Gustafson, and wrote for Louie Bellson, Artwork Farmer, and Carla Helmbrecht, among numerous others. Mantooth, who regarded his main motivation to become Gil Evans, also led albums of his very own for Optimism and Ocean Air flow. Frank Mantooth passed away of a coronary attack on January 30, 2004. He was 56.
