Frank Mandel

b. 31 Might 1884, California, USA, d. 20 Apr 1958, LA, California, USA. Mixed up in theatre before Globe Battle I, Mandel was known chiefly for his composing. In 1912 he and Helen Build modified Our Wives from the initial German play, Jugenfreude, by Ludwig Fulda. In 1914 Mandel and Henry Blossom Jnr. would adapt Our Wives simply because The Only Young lady, with music by Victor Herbert. Also in 1912, Mandel had written the libretto for the operetta Miss Princess. In 1928, Mandel modified Hello, Daddy, through the German original, third , by creating Follow Thru (1929), tracks by De Sylva, Dark brown And Henderson, also generating the screen edition the following 12 months. In the 30s Mandel created the musicals America’s Sweetheart, Totally free FOR ALL THOSE, and East Blowing wind (all 1931), also composing the second option, and he published the publication for May Wines (1935). Mandel’s last Broadway display, which he created and aimed, was the play Vickie (1942).
