One of the most individualistic acoustic pianists from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s, Frank Kimbrough can be an “inside/outdoors” improviser whose major influences range between Expenses Evans and Keith Jarrett to Cecil Taylor, Paul Bley, and Andrew Hill.
