Frank D’Rone

Chicago singer Frank D’Rone recorded 4 LPs for Mercury through the past due ’50s and early ’60s, one of these (Following the Ball) with name arranger Billy Might. A swinging vocalist having very much in keeping with Bobby Darin, D’Rone was originally a music group guitarist prior to making his debut on Mercury in 1957 having a trio of brief sessions. His 1st LP, Frank D’Rone Sings, was adopted in 1959 by Blue Velvet. D’Rone produced a vacation to LA to be able to record with Billy Might for 1960’s Following the Ball, but his period with Mercury finished in 1962 after PERSONALLY. D’Rone has continuing to execute and record in to the 21st hundred years, with his most recent CD, Double Publicity, slated for launch in January 2012. The recording includes big-band plans offering Phil Kelly & the Northwest Prevailing Winds.
