François de Roubaix

Biography

Composer François de Roubaix was created on Apr 3, 1939, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He didn’t receive any formal musical education, but he became thinking about jazz from age 15. Along with his close friends, he produced a music group where he performed trombone by hearing. At exactly the same time he learned all about the build of filmmaking doing work for his dad, Paul de Roubaix, manufacturer of educational movies. While the youthful de Roubaix was an helper editor on a brief film aimed by Robert Enrico, the last mentioned suggested him to compose the rating for it aswell. De Roubaix decided and thus discovered the best way to reconcile his devotion to both movie theater and music. His professional musical profession only spanned a decade, from 1965-1975. Throughout that period he constructed for commercials, Television series, pants, and about 30 feature-length movies, mainly for directors Robert Enrico and José Giovanni, in addition to for Jean-Pierre Melville, Jean-Pierre Mocky, and Yves Boisset. Probably the most striking facet of François de Roubaix’s music is certainly its flexibility: similarly, it’s his capability to develop simple, memorable music; on another hands, it’s his bolder tests with different timbres and documenting techniques. He openly mixed folkloric and digital equipment, embracing the advancement of the very first synthesizers and tempo boxes. Being truly a multi-instrumentalist provided him a higher degree of creative independence, as he spent extended hours at his house studio overdubbing differing of his ratings until he’d reach the required result. A separate sea fan, François de Roubaix passed away within a diving incident close to the Canary Isles on November 22, 1975. His music for Robert Enrico’s Le Vieux Fusil was posthumously honored with a French César in 1976.
