François Bayle

Bayle studied with Stockhausen and Messiaen. He became a member of the ORTF Groupe de Musique Concrète in 1960 and was affected by Schaeffer. He later on led the group when it became the Groupe de Recherches Musicales in 1966. The majority of his compositions are digital, and his 1st important function, =Espaces inhabitables= (1967) can be suggestive of the imaginary world where nature can be distorted inside a dream-like style. He later used natural and artificial noises in his compositions, like the documented sounds manufactured in a Lebanese cave. Bayle summarizes his concepts about sound and its own influence on the listener in the ten hour function =L’expérience acoustique.= He offers mentioned that his purpose like a composer can be to allow the listener to experience the movement and vibration of energy in the universe.
