Best known because the Mighty Sparrow, Francisco Slinger can be an 11-period champion from the Calypso Monarchy and an eight-time champion of Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnaval Street March Competition. His strikes consist of “Clara Honeybunch,” “No Doctor No,” “Goaty,” and “Jean and Dinah.” An outspoken critic from the Caribbean’s music market, he published the scorching indictment “Carnaval Boycott” in 1957, after getting just 40 dollars when his track “Jean and Dinah” received the Calypso Monarchy the prior 12 months. Although he boycotted your competition for 3 years, he came back in 1961 as solid as before his hiatus. Given birth to to an unhealthy, working class family members in the tiny fishing town of Grand Roi, Slinger relocated with his family members to Trinidad before his 1st birthday.
