Franchois Lebertoul

The first reference to Lebertoul uncovered is a guide in Cambrai Cathedral where he was probably a singer in the chorus paricularly during festivals from the liturical calendar (1409-1410). Currently the structure of five chansons are related to him. These are characterized by complex cross-rhythms, chose harmonic adjustments and sweeping, elaborate vocal passages. “Au discomfort faitich” and “O mortalis/O pastores/O vos multi” had been constructed by Lebertoul. The afterwards is interesting being a triple ballade with three split text messages in Latin.
