Francesco Martini

Flemish composer and instrumentalist Francesco Martini, who was simply also an ordained priest, spent the majority of his operating life in Italy. Hardly any of his functions have come right down to us. We realize, however, that Martini was extremely well known by his co-workers. For instance, G.F. Anerio known as him one of the better composers of your day. As his compositions indicate, Martini was a relatively traditional composer with a good understand of polyphonic, concertato, and multi-choral idioms. His Magnificat, in the “concertato all romana” design, for 16 voices, could be his most amazing surviving piece. It isn’t known specifically when he was created, although it might have been as soon as 1550; resources, and scholars, disagree. Martini appears to have been maestro di cappella on the Seminario Romano, perhaps between 1594 and 1602. On Oct 5, 1602, he was recognized in to the Congregazione dell’Oratorio in Rome, dealing with all the primary duties for the music in 1603, when Prospero Santini, his forerunner, was expelled in disgrace. IN-MAY 1605, his placement was formally identified when he was granted the name perfetto della musica. His magazines include two selections of motets. Martini offered at Congregazione until his loss of life. There was, nevertheless, an interruption, from 1623 to 1626, when Girolamo Rosini changed him.
