Francesco Cera

Blessed in Bologna, Francesco Cera is an interval keyboard professional and a specialist interpreter of early music. He analyzed with harpsichordist Ferruccio Tagliavini in his indigenous city and finished his education in Gustav Leonhardt’s course in the Amsterdam Conservatory. Cera in the beginning founded himself as an associate of Il Giardino Armonico, with whom he performed between 1991 and 1994. Afterward, Cera started an extended association using the Italian label Tactus, for whom he offers recorded good samplings of music by Domenico Scarlatti, Valente, Storace, Merula, and Michelangelo Rossi, amongst others. Cera founded the Arte Musica Outfit and acts as its innovator; with this group, he offers explored the vocal music of Monteverdi, Gesualdo, and Colonna, and surveyed the Venetian and Roman universities. Cera offers made his house in Rome since 2001, and in 2003 was called the city’s honorary inspector of historic organs.
