The Incredible String Music group was only a cult act within the U.S., so that it may come like a shock to American listeners the ISB in fact spawned imitators on the house turf. Forest was probably the most faithful of the, releasing a few albums of medieval-hippie minstrelsy in 1969-1970. Each person in the trio (Martin Welham, Derek Allenby, and Hadrian Welham) was a multi-instrumentalist, playing not only the anticipated guitars, but harmonium, harpsichord, pipes, whistle, body organ, and mandolin.
