Forest Fire

Starting as alternative folk-rock group stationed in Brooklyn, NY and Portland, Oregon, Forest Flame soon extended their horizons. After launching their initial EP, Psychic Like Star, Tag Thresher, Nathan Delffs, Natalie Stormann, and Adam Spittler released Success, their debut full-length, in 2008 via Catbird Information; the label’s founder, music blogger Ryan Catbird, downloaded the band’s music on the whim and enjoyed it a lot he wished to discharge it. Because of their second record, 2011’s Looking at the X, the foursome chosen a more ambitious strategy, incorporating from Krautrock to Television-style punk to their audio. Forest Fire came back in 2013 using a lineup offering Thresher, Stormann, Galen Brenner and Robert Pounding; the band’s third record, Screens, was motivated by ’70s luminaries such as for example Joy Department, Laurie Anderson, Suicide and Kraftwerk.
