Forbidden Friends

Famous for tackling the main topic of love from a bittersweet, often dark perspective, The Thermals frontman Hutch Harris required period to explore his happier, poppier side at the start of 2011, exposing a solo task beneath the pseudonym Forbidden Friends. Changing the distorted, post-punk guitars with mono documented acoustic exuberance and dealing with bass and drum responsibilities himself, Harris documented debut 7″ ‘Tiny Hands/’For You’ — offering percussion work in the Thermals’ Kathy Foster and Westin Cup, aswell as Michael Lerner of Telekinesis. Released in March on Eliminate Rock Superstars, the one was defined by Harris to be influenced with the audio and experience of Violent Femmes, along with his vocals shipped in a far more calm way than his supporters had perhaps arrive to anticipate — one of many reasons for producing the parting between this and a Thermals task.
