For.Mat

For.mat was a one-off task for brothers Lincoln and Russell Fong that yielded 1994’s Press Circus, and nothing at all else. Unlike the brothers’ earlier collaboration using the even more pop-based Polar/Polar Purpose (or their joint involvements with Moose), For.mat was an wall plug to jump to their like of sampling and informal instrumental interplay, sounding just like a less cultured, mid-’90s edition of Brian Eno and David Byrne’s cooperation on MY ENTIRE LIFE within the Bush of Spirits. If you’re acquainted with Russell’s executive use AR Kane, Lush, Cocteau Twins, and (even more particularly) M/A/R/R/S, Press Circus shouldn’t arrive as a lot of a surprise.
