Food

At one stage in the film Repo Man, the primary character starts a may of meals labeled “Food.” The Chicago music group Meals was rather as an equivalent to that may of food in the wonderful world of past due-’60s psychedelia: an record that had most of the common substances within psychedelic rock and roll, but wasn’t specifically tasty or distinguishable from a whole lot of various other offerings for the racks. Their singular album, Forever Can be a Dream, arrived on Capitol in 1969, and tended toward the softer and even more orchestrated aspect of psychedelia. At different times, it proceeded to go into punchy soul-tinged horn rock and roll, lush ballads, and folkiness, frequently with the type of distorted instrumental and vocal textures common towards the period.
