Fonzi Thornton

Given birth to Alfonso Thornton in NEW YORK, Fonzi Thornton became a history vocalist behind Luther Vandross. He toured the globe and can become heard within the singer’s platinum and platinum albums. He can also be heard performing history vocals on numerous produces including those by Chic. In 1983, Thornton got a solo cope with RCA Information. Thornton co-wrote and co-produced his debut LP, THE FIRST CHOICE, with RCA professional Robert Wright. Issued in springtime 1983, the metropolitan pop LP yielded the percolating, perennial dance preferred “Beverly,” which managed to get to quantity 43 R&B on Billboard’s graphs in springtime 1983. Chic’s Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards show up on the LP. Thornton and Wright also co-wrote and created his second RCA LP, Pumpin’, released in summer time 1984, that was even more reflective from the dance/rock of that time period.
