Folksongs for the Afterlife formed in 1996 when vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Caroline Schutz met up with multi-instrumentalist Chris Sizemore plus they decided to type an organization. Schutz had recently been composing music, mostly of the instrumental nature, beneath the name Folksongs for the Afterlife, however when the two joined up with together they made a decision to consider the music group in a far more pop path. After a few many years of refining their audio, the music group released a five-song EP for the U.K. indie label Enraptured. The disk was a light success and presented those who noticed it towards the band’s dreamy sound. Their account was boosted in 2001 by an appearance on World Rock’s THAT IS Next Calendar year: A Brooklyn Structured Compilation. Their monitor, “Spending in sunlight,” was a showcase from the compilation. For this period, the band’s lineup begun to consider shape. Alongside Schutz and Sizemore, Steve Toole (electric guitar), Chris Deaner (drums), and David Gould (bass) curved out the workers. In 2003, Hidden Plan released the band’s full-length debut, Put Risk Back Your Life.
