FM Static

Toronto’s FM Static was the pop-punk side project of 1000 Feet Krutch’s Trevor McNevan (vocals/acoustic guitar) and Steve Augustine (drums). A million kilometers from TFK’s blustery rap-metal, FM Static experienced much more in keeping using the fizzy, instantly available pop-punk of blink-182 or Great Charlotte. Joined up with by bassist Justin Smith and guitarist John Bunner, McNevan and Augustine released FM Static’s debut on Teeth & Toenail in July 2003; it presented 11 positive-thinking tunes about girls, senior high school, and summertime. FM Static backed it having a countrywide tour that fall. The people followed up 3 years later on with Critically Ashamed. The duo ramped up their songwriting for his or her next album, this year’s 2009 concept recording and rock and roll opera Dear Journal, which presented a narrative informed through the imaginary characters journal entries. The recording was successful, helping the music group to break onto the Billboard 200. The next year the music group announced these were working on fresh materials and their 4th album, My Mind Says Quit, But My Heart Says Proceed!, premiered in 2011.
