Flightcrank

The creation of ex-Prodigy dancer Leeroy Thornhill (b. 8 Oct 1968, Essex, Britain), who still left the band following the substantial achievement of their third record, 1997’s Fat FROM THE Land, and the next world tours begun to consider their toll. He previously already obtained a grounding in creation and had started to put together his own studio room by 1994. In the same season he also remixed Moby’s ‘Arrive On Baby’ for Mute Information, though it was under no circumstances commercially released. His single EP Twisted, offering the reggae tale Lee Perry, made an appearance for the Los Angeles-based label, Copasetik Information in-may 2000. The Flightcrank debut (the name can be taken from section of a BMX bicycle), Beyond All Fair Doubt featured visitor performances from Finley Quaye as well as the Mad Teacher. Less digital and dance music -structured compared to the Prodigy’s audio, the record also drew affects from folk, reggae and punk. Thornhill had written, performed and created a lot of the record as well as sung business lead vocals for the track ‘Amazing’.
