Guitarist and vocalist Greg Swanholm (b. 6/4/58) skilled university in Tucson, Az, studying computer systems by time and reverently going out at seminal “cowpunk” night clubs by night. Relocated by the brand amalgamation noises of Al Perry, Kevin Daley, Bruce Hamblin and various other “desert rockers,” Greg waited until he was 25 years previous had and acquired transferred to Phoenix before he found his first electric guitar, skipped lessons and produced Flathead with bassist Ruth Wilson and drummer Vince Ramirez. A digressive rock and roll sensation in the alt nation club picture, Flathead quickly became a staple preferred, sketching crowds and determining the post-Gin Blossoms’ Tempe audio with regular gigs on the Sail Inn as well as the Az Roadhouse Brewery. Broadly regarded as a music group that has most effectively spun platinum out of threads of origins rock, traditional nation, and fast dried out punk, the music group has loved an infectious unique local appeal through the entire American southwest. Flathead’s self-titled debut Compact disc, documented in Swanholm’s kitchen and released by Truxton information in 1997, continues to be hailed as “totally fun” and offers helped to maintain traditional dance nation well at your fingertips for a wide contemporary audience.
