Flashlight Brown

Biography

Flashlight Dark brown featured guitarist/vocalist Matt Hughes, drummer Tim Thomson, bassist Fil Bucchino, and guitarist Mike Conroy. Rocking away from Guelph, Ontario, in 1996, the four pals originally leaned toward a ska-inflected punk audio. They released an eponymous record that same season for the Montreal indie STOMP, but shifted to Increase A for the Working Period LP a season later. Flashlight got by now set up a furious touring plan, and supported their asphalt period with a dynamic internet site. By 2000’s Self-Titled Once again (Union 2112), the quartet got mainly excised the ska affects off their punk-pop groove, and got added the “Dark brown” with their name. Even more touring implemented, until a past due 2002 display in L.A. resulted in a cope with Hollywood. Rob Cavallo — popular helmer of Green Day’s Dookie — authorized on to create the band’s major-label debut, and in Apr 2003, it made an appearance. My Degeneration presented a few fresh songs and re-recordings of existing materials; Flashlight Brown backed it having a minitour of American high colleges, and a series of even more proper times on Lollapalooza with regular night clubs that summer.
