Flake Music

The band that eventually became the Shins, Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Flake Music still left a trail of singles dating back again to 1993 and a lone full-length release to posterity (1997’s When You Property Here, It is time to Come back, Omnibus Information). Originally referred to as Flake, the music group was produced in 1992 by vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Adam Mercer and highlighted drummer Jesse Sandoval, keyboardist Marty Crandall, and bassist Neal Langford. Immediately after, they transformed their name to Flake Music and shipped shimmering electric guitar pop evoking ecstasy over the purchase of Robert Smith’s greatest. After launching When You Property Right here, the quartet remade itself as the Shins, trading equipment and areas on-stage; by 1999, Flake Music essentially disbanded when Langford became a member of the brand new group.
