Focused around Italian pianist Luigi Bonafede, the present day jazz ensemble Five for Jazz was shaped in 1984 like a touring group for Bonafede. Over time the band offers featured several music artists including altoist Massimo Urbani, tenorman Pietro Tonolo, bassist Piero Leveratto, and drummer Paolo Pellegatti, in addition to tenor saxophonist Emanuele Cisi and trumpeter Flavio Boltro. Five for Jazz released a debut overall performance album Reside in Sanremo and in Pesaro in 1984 and Soulscape in 1996.
