Firehorse

Firehorse mix smoky vocals, gentle consumer electronics, and ethereal accents to get a Bird as well as the Bee-meets-Björk blend. Comprised of traditional violinist and industrial songwriter turned vocalist Leah Siegel (Brooklyn Boogaloo Blowout, Residents Band, and girl of National Open public Radio broadcaster Robert Siegel), guitarist Steve Elliot, bassist Tim Luntzel (Rosanne Money, Loudon Wainwright III), and drummer Brian Wolfe (Sufjan Stevens, My Brightest Gemstone), the Brooklyn-based music group named itself following the Chinese language zodiac indication of self-reliance, assertiveness, and free of charge nature. They released their full-length debut, AND THEY ALSO Went Faster…, for the PledgeMusic label in Sept 2011, earning compliment from famous brands Prince and obtaining ink in magazines like Time Journal for Siegel’s effective vocals and evocative songwriting.
