Fire, Water, Air

The musicians in Open fire, Water, Air got previously experienced Yahowa 13, probably one of the most enigmatic psychedelic cult sets of all time. Centered around a cult leader-type shape, Dad Yod, Yahowa (and a earlier incarnation, Dad Yod & the Nature of ’76) lower nearly ten extremely unusual limited-circulation LPs combining uncooked psychedelic musicianship, the quirky mystical philosophies of Dad Yod, as well as the atonal vocals of Dad Yod himself. (Discover entries on Yahowa and Dad Yod & the Nature of ’76 for additional information.) Dad Yod passed away in 1975, spelling the finish of Yahowa 13. But a year or two later, some of the music artists that were associated with Yahowa 13 constructed as Fire, Drinking water, Atmosphere, and released a uncommon eight-track tape, Golden Sunrise, in 1977. This is just like, and somewhat (but only somewhat) less unusual than the typical Yahowa/Dad Yod albums, mainly due to the lack of Yod’s lyrics and vocals. The insistent, unstable rhythms and spiraling, distorted acoustic guitar of Djin Aquarian raised this somewhat above-the-typical amateur private-press psychedelic recording, as well as the inclusion of several Neil Youthful acoustic folk-rock music close to the end added a little bit of variety. What really fascinated the interest of some psychedelic enthusiasts, however, was the current presence of Sky Saxon on a number of the vocals (even though the credits, as had been usually the situation with Yahowa 13, weren’t specific concerning which exact types had been graced by his existence). The recording, all but difficult to discover in its unique incarnation, continues to be reissued as you disc from the 13-Compact disc God and Locks: Yahowa Collection container established, which assembles the entire known works from the Yahowa/Dad Yod & the Spirit of ’76/Fireplace, Water, Surroundings/Yodship/etc. musical efforts associated with Dad Yod. This container set also contains a disc generally made up of previously unreleased materials of unspecified classic by Fire, Drinking water, Air. That is similar to, however, not as unusual as, their 1977 record, and often even more song-oriented in conception; Djin Aquarian and Sky Saxon talk about lead vocals.
